PRP for Scar Healing
PRP/Selphyl® for atrophic scars
Overview
The Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is injected directly to atrophic scars, which are sunken areas where collagen or other tissues below the skin have been damaged. Atrophic scars can be caused by acne, surgery, trauma, and childhood illnesses like chickenpox.

As a monotherapy, or combined with laser treatment, PRP visibly reduces scars caused by surgical operations, burns, injuries, or skin conditions that have led to atrophic scarring. Growth factors generated by platelets have reconstructing and regenerating functions, which promote tissue healing under the skin.

The total number of treatments needed depends on each patient and the desired outcome. For example, treatment of acne scars on the face, back, and chest requires a cycle of 3–8 sessions.
